The 2008 BMW M3

Those who have been waiting for a true sports car above all others will not be disappointed by the new 2008 BMW M3. This car is all about power that is actually a bit understated as well as luxury and economy. With a 4.0 liter V8 under the hood, when you first start up the car, you may be surprised at how quiet it is. In fact, it is so quiet you may be thinking you got into the wrong car. However, all you have to do is get on a long stretch of road where you can open up the accelerator and the car will begin to come alive as the engine really kicks into gear. Once you get all the way up to 8400 rpm, you actually have 420 horsepower behind you propelling you along.

Just this first real ride will let you know that the performance shop at BMW definitely got it right with this car; in fact, the car is probably a whole lot more than you expect. Interestingly enough, neither the Mercedes C63AMG nor the Audi RS4 where used as the benchmark cars for the new M3. Actually it was Porsche 911 that was used as the benchmark car. Just think, if this car has enough to beat out the Porsche 911, this is a car that is definitely above anything else available out there today. While you may notice that this car is just a bit like the 3 Series coupe, the engine is more powerful and BMW went for lower consumption of fuel, more horsepower in the car, and higher revs as well.

The new 2008 BMW M3 is very different from any other car BMW has made. Sure, there are a few things carried over from the 3 Series coupe, such as the trunk lid, the doors, and the lights, but otherwise this is a whole new car. The roof of the car is made of carbon fiber, and if you take a close look you can see the distinctive look. This helps to reduce the weight of the car and it also lowers the center of gravity a bit as well. More than likely the carbon fiber roof is going to become a signature idea of the M Series cars. The whole design of the car is made to look like the car is a performance based car, and once you take a look at the car, you'll never mistake it for anything else.

As was mentioned previously, the 2008 BMW M3 sports the very powerful 4.0 liter V8 engine, which is very impressive when it comes to power. This powerful engine is also matched up with a transmission that is a six speed manual. Together it is a great combination and whenever you step on the gas pedal, it will quickly speed up with a very smooth transmission easing it on up to higher speeds.

One special option that the new M3 boasts is the special MDrive system, which is also on the M5. This is accessed by a special button that is on the steering wheel, and basically it allows you to choose what chassis settings you prefer, and then you can store them and retrieve them later as you choose. When you start the car up, the car will go back to the standard mode; however, when you push the MDrive button you can go back to the settings you have previously stored.

The inside of the 2008 BMW M3 will not be a disappointment to you either, when you open the door and climb in. Those who designed the interior worked to offer great driving pleasure that is tailored to your needs as well as your wishes. All the instruments and controls are easy to use and easy to reach from the drivers' seat. They are circular instruments that are illuminated with white light and needles that are red. It comes with a special leather steering wheel as well and the M log is on the left foot, the inner door panels, and other places on the car.

You can have all the great power and luxury of this car starting out at about $62,500, which is quite a hefty price. However, for all the car you actually get, many people find that to be an excellent price.
